In our previous post, we gave you some history of the notably fancy car, the Porsche. These historical facts included the first Porsche being built around the year of 1943, that you can order your Porsche in any color your wish, and that the most popular car built by Porsche was the 911. A fact that many people are astonished by, is that Porsche helped develop the Volkswagen Beetle as well, which is what we are going to be talking about today.

The Volkswagen Beetle was first developed by the same German engineers that built the Porsche. Just like the Porsche, the car was developed in 1932 but was not fully manufactured until years later, 1936. This Volkswagen was one of the most popular cars of the 1940’s, and still is to this day. One fact that many people know the VW bug for, is that the engine was placed in the rear end of the car. This was unlike any car built before, and was built to the exact specifications that the Nazi Germany leader, Adolf Hitler required. The Volkswagen Beetle bug was designed specifically to drive the autobahn and because of this, it is one of the most popular cars driven in Western Europe. To this day, it is the longest running manufactured car.
